Reserve Division

The Crosby Police Department - Reserve Division exists to aid the the license Police Officers during emergencies, in the protection of life and property, the preservation of the public peace and order, the prevention and detection of crime, and the enforcement of the laws of the State of Minnesota and the City of Crosby.  During periods of emergency, Reserve Officers may be endowed with legal authority as directed by the Chief of Police.  

Applicants need to meet the following minimum requirements:

  1. Be 21 years of age or older or 18 years of age or older if enrolled in an accredited Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice Program.
  2. Be a United States Citizen
  3. Possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent  
  4. Be free of felony convictions or convictions for an offense involving fraud, theft or dishonesty
  5. Possess a valid Minnesota Drivers License
  6. Pass a background investigation 

 

Reserve Officers assist licensed officers with many calls for service. These Include:

  1. Natural and unnatural disasters and phenomenon.
  2. Accidents of all kinds, including traffic, home, public, industrial, and firearms.
  3. Medical emergencies.
  4. Traffic and crowd control.
  5. Handle motorist and pedestrian assists.
  6. City park patrol.
  7. Write reports.
  8. Give non-confidential information upon request.
  9. Counsel and advise citizens when required.
  10. Search for lost persons.
  11. Assist in security crime scenes.
